The VESL Child Care Provider Program prepares intermediate-advanced ESL students for careers in child care. 

The VESL Child Care Provider certificate program prepares low intermediate to advanced students (ESLN Level 3, 4, or 5) to enter a career pathway in child care, child development, or early childhood education. In addition, many students who are not seeking a career in these areas complete this program to learn information and language skills helpful in their role as parents or grandparents.

  1. Integrate appropriate vocabulary and oral language skills to communicate effectively about child development, child care and early childhood education.
  2. 应用 occupation-specific vocabulary, grammar and reading and writing skills to child care and child development concepts and settings.
  3. Use knowledge of children's developmental stages and anti-bias education to effectively plan activities and communicate in an early childhood setting.
  4. Explain a variety of options and requirements for further education and employment opportunities in child care and early childhood education.

Recommended Preparation:

This program is designed for students in ESLN Level 3, 4 and 5. If you are a new student, we recommend that you register for the CASAS 评估测试 test to determine your ESLN level. 

A Certificate of Competency is awarded upon successful completion of all required 课程.
